They don’t notice it at first.
The message had been filed into a cabinet labelled ‘wacked out’, and they’d moved on, gladly forgetting about it.
They only notice something’s up when Castiel checks in, unannounced, frighteningly close to Dean. He sways, a little bewildered, and Dean mimics the action. They both stare at each other, blinking, trying to gather their bearings and process the situation.
Then Dean springs backwards, arms flailing out in a twisted-sort-of barrier.
“Dude, what the hell?”
